Diann M. Brophy, OD
Dr. Diann M. Brophy moved to our area and joined Short Hills Ophthalmology in January, 2017. Dr. Brophy has been practicing with an ophthalmic surgical/medical practice for the past twelve years near her home town, Long Beach Island, NJ.
After graduating from Delaware Valley University with a Bachelors of Science in Microbiology and Biotechnology, Dr. Brophy graduated with Honors from The New England College of Optometry in 2004.
Dr. Brophy is very comfortable managing and treating pathology such as diabetes, glaucoma, and macular disease, as well as co-managing surgical patients with our chief surgeon, Dr. Michael Farbowitz.
Dr. Brophy had LASIK in 2009, and is available to discuss, educate, and order testing such as topography, orbscan, and pachymetry to assess your refractive surgery (LASIK) candidacy.
Dr. Brophy enjoys volunteering with the NJ Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired, The Special Olympics, The Wounded Warrior Project, The Brain Tumor Society, Autism Speaks, and The Boys and Girls Club of Hoboken.
In addition, Dr. Brophy has had extensive training in silicone hydrogel contact lenses, specialty contact lens therapy implementing SynergEyes Hybrid lenses, and Orthokeratology in non-surgical candidates.
In her spare time, Dr. Brophy and her husband enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, and outdoor sports. Dr. Brophy has completed one marathon, three triathlons, three half marathons, and several 5k charity runs.
